The play was staged as part of the ongoing annual festival of the National School of Drama. The capital’s literary cognoscenti turned up in large numbers at the India Habitat Centre last month to attend a lecture by the noted intellectual Benedict Anderson, best known for his book ‘Imagined Communities’, informs Tarini Sridharan. The event was held under the aegis of the prestigious journal IESHR (Indian Economic and Social History Review) and Sage Publications.

The JDCA Film Forum held the 4th National Short and Documentary Festival on Art and Artists. The theme, “Portraits,” included profiling people and places, events, cultures , communities and products. This year the festival also continued with the theme of environment and wild life reports Jai Chandiram. The festival introduced a new window of interest in the work created by media students. Persistence Resistance 2010: a festival of contemporary political films The Festival held from 25th- 27th February 2010 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The festival will screen a large number of films using multiple screening and viewing practices: films will be screened in auditoriums, in the outdoors, in simulated video parlours, at multi-hub video library and as installations. |
