Workshop to be conducted by Aditi for Kathak dancers

This workshop revisits the traditional Kathak technique through a contemporary eye. Participants will be introduced to the choreographic ideas and interests that mark the work and creative explorations of the choreographer. They will then be led through exercises on how these ideas are used by the choreographer as motivations for experimenting and evolving a personal approach to the traditional form.

Entry to this workshop is limited to senior students and exponents of Kathak.

Aditi Mangaldas is a leading dancer and choreographer in both the classical Indian dance form of Kathak and the contemporary idiom. With extensive training under the leading exponents of Kathak, Smt. Kumudini Lakhia and Pandit Birju Maharaj, Aditi is today recognized for her artistry, technique and characteristic energy that mark every performance. Her solo performances and group ensembles, both traditional and contemporary, have received critical acclaim at leading festivals all over the world.Date and time is as under:
