Bragha Bessell

For those interested in advancing their skills in Dance Gati Forum isConducting a special Workshop in Abhinay

This is an in depth workshop by Bragha Bessell, a Bharatanatayam dancer who specializes in abhinaya in the Kalanidhi Narayanan style. The workshop is meant for intermediate and advanced classical Indian dancers with some prior abhinaya experience. Bragha will explore the nuances of abhinaya and the treatment of the ashtanayikas (8 heroines) along with teaching some padams and javalis (old love songs).


About Bragha Bessell:

Bragha has been a senior student of Adyar K Lakshman and Kalanidhi Narayanan and is renowned for her abhinaya. She is totally immersed in the art of learning and in the emotional aspects of the music she portrays. 

With many awards to her credit, she has given numerous performances in India and abroad. She has participated in dance festivals in Chennai and has performed extensively in India, the United States, Canada and throughout Europe

Date: Monday, April 26 to Friday, April 30

Time: 10 am - 2.30 pm

Venue: Siddhartha Hall, Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan

Fee: Rs 2000

Eligibility: Dancers with Indian classical dance background.
