vaaldain (parents)
your names
enjoined
with mine
are absolute.
I am your
blood
conjoined.
you never have
disowned me
cold-shouldered
ripped me
into shreds..
I’ve never
had to walk
eggshells
or bitter shards
of love gone sour
around you..
Baritone
If only
I could
touch the
texture
of your
voice..
caress
the
timbre..
fondle the
tone..
It would
be manna
from Earth!
red flags
adorned
your
still
form..
gentle
firm
hands
laid
to final
rest..
shapely
arched
feet
in repose..
oratorial
rousing
skills
forever
stilled..
that
day
you
were
celebrated
set
a free..
this
time
over
life’s
work
almost
done.

Best not
recount
the limits
of that
which
touches in
ignited
ways
Holds me
close
from afar
steady
yet giddy
helps me
tread
deep waters..
It was
meant
so why
to fear
the outer
sphere
when inner
chimes
resound
