ALIENS?

 

Is the past another country?

 

a newly partitioned nation

enforcing new borders

 

mutual recrimination

accusations of infiltration

                           

does it leave me feeling like the third world

colonized with no trace of a former self

 

or does it stay,

a rebel self,

waging civil war, threatening cessation?
